Chapter 8: GULA

"May I ask what are you doing at the end of the city?" Nanay Mercy asked.
"I - I was looking for a part-time job." Joy replied while pretending that the boxes are heavy.
"What a coincidence! My boss wants to hire an employee. Just wait here and I will call him!" Nanay Mercy said then she hurriedly went upstairs.

"So, are you the applicant that Nanay Mercy was talking about?" Joy is sitting patiently at the sala when the owner of the house came down the stairs. Joy was shocked to see that it was Cedric.
"Na - Nanay Mercy, it never came to my mind that my classmate will become my boss. Thank you so much for the offer, but I need to go!?" Joy said and she started walking out of the door but Cedric stops her.
"What if I give you a good offer, you will still refuse the job?" Cedric asked.



"WHAT???" Peach and Sarah shouted in chorus.
"Your new boss is the transfer student?" Peach.
"Cedric!?" Sarah added. The triplets met at the city and Joy told her sisters about her new job as a personal assistant/maid for Cedric and they reacted differently.

Peach was so excited about it with matching twinkling eyes while Sarah looks worried and been thinking that she already heard the name Cedric before but she can't really remember.
"He offered me money to pay for our rent and reopen the eatery." Joy explained.
"But we already decided that we will go to Elementalia every weekend." Sarah reminded Joy.
"I know. That's why I asked him if I can have 2 days off at weekends since I'm staying in. But he just told me that he will think about it." Joy replied.


*RING, RING*
Joy answered her phone and it was Ian calling.
"ATE JOY! Tell Ate Sarah and Ate Peach that you all have to come here quickly! THERE'S A MONSTER ATTACK! I will text you the location!" Ian said.
"Ok, Ian! We will be there soon!" Joy replied.
"What magic item is that? Was it Joy's voice? Can I try it??" They heard Roe talking and Ian sounds pissed off.
"It's my phone! GO AWAY!" Ian said before the call ended.
"LET'S GO!!!" Joy said.



"What kind of creature is that? SO CREEPY!" Peach said disgustedly. They are now in the location where the evil creature attacked.
The victim was controlled by the monster by sticking its long tongue at the back of his neck. Its victim is rampaging and eating all the food inside the restaurant.
"Roe are you OK?" Sarah asked Roe because she looks like in deep thinking.
"I REMEMBER NOW! They call them 'DEADLY SINS' because their strength comes from the sins that humans do. Deadly Sins are the source of evil creatures even before Elementalia and the Human world are divided into two worlds." Roe said.
"Then what sin is its strength and does it have a name?" Joy asked.
"Gluttony and its name is Gula. You can call it a hybrid of tiktik and berberoka." Roe explained.
"So instead of drowning its victims with water, that Gula is drowning them with food??" Sarah.
"Yes! But what normal people see, is that the victim is just eating all the food until they become fat. Once the victim becomes too big Gula will eat them whole!" Roe added.

"We need to defeat it now! I don't want my figure to be ruined by that monster!" Peach said with an angry voice.
"She is more worried about her figure!" Ian whispered to himself disappointedly.
"I have a plan! Just follow what I say." Sarah said.....


The monster came out of the road with its victim, then Peach calls it.
"HEY, YOU CREEPY MONSTER! COME AND CATCH ME IF YOU CAN!!!" Peach winked playfully at the monster then she runs away using her super speed.
Gula leaves his victim behind and a pair of wings grew at his back then he flew to catch Peach.
"Oh no! He can fly with that big body?" Peach was surprised by Gula and he almost catches her but a big log hit him on the face.

Peach led the monster into an open space where Joy and Sarah are waiting for an ambush attack for it.
"SARAH DO IT NOW!" Joy shouted to Sarah.
Sarah levitated some long steels to wrap at the monster but when she saw it's standing up again really mad, she got afraid and can't move.
"ATE SARAH WATCH OUT!" Peach wants to save Sarah cause the monster will now attack her, but Peach is already exhausted from using her power.
*SMASH BLAAAHG*
Gula hits the wall when someone attacked him from the side.
"You can't defeat a Deadly Sin even with powers?" A boy with a green mask and silver salakot appeared. He uses two black arnis which is made of giant stingrays tails as his weapons.
"TOO MANY PESTS! I WILL EAT YOU ALL!!!" Gula attacked again using his sharp claws.
The masked boy was fighting back and it seems that he was on advantage to his opponent.
"AHRG! TAMPALASAN! NO ONE CAN DEFEAT US!! NO ONE CAN DEFEAT GULA!!!" Gula shouted then he attacked the masked boy using its long tongue and wrapped him with it.
"H - HEEEY! AHHH!" The masked boy shouted in pain.
" HAHAHA! I WILL EAT YOU!" Gula's mouth is getting bigger every time he pulls the boy nearer to him using its tongue.
"Sisters let's help him!!!" Joy said.
"YES ATE!" Sarah and Peach replied.
Then the triplets attacked the monster. Sarah used her power to bind Gula so it can't move, while Joy uses all her strength in punching it and then the monsters released the masked boy. Lastly, Peach grab its tongue and quickly wrapped it to Gula.
"YOU WILL ALL PAY FOR THIS!!! Your world will soon belong to our Queen too!" Gula said before it disappeared using black thick smoke.
"YEHEY! WE DEFEAT GULA!!!" The triplets rejoice.
"I'm impressed! But the other Deadly Sins are a lot stronger, so you better be the Guardians sooner!" The masked boy said to them before he leaves.
"Wait! How did you...?" Joy wanted to ask but he is already gone?
The triplets are wondering who is that boy and how did he know about the Guardians and the Deadly Sins.
