Chapter 14: HE'S SICK


The Masked Boy hurriedly went back to his house.
"I hope normal medicines will work, now that I don't have the necklace."
He took off his mask and warrior uniform that reveals his true identity, and went into the bathroom and take a short shower, then after putting on his clothes he started treating his wounds.
Suddenly he received a text message.
"Sir Cedric, we found Peach but I need to stay home since it's late at night. I'll just see you tomorrow at school. Take care." Joy said the message.
"Ok. See you." Cedric replied.

He also took some medicines but he is getting more dizzy and cold at the same time.
"I think I was poisoned by Laksurya's claws... I need to call Nanay Mercy." He said, but he lost consciousness while trying to get his phone on the other side of his bed.


The next morning.....
Joy tried to call Cedric on his phone but he is not answering it.
"What happened to him?" Joy asked to herself.
Sarah noticed her so she asked Joy if she was calling Cedric then Joy just nodded with a worried face as a reply.
"Don't worry, maybe he is just busy." Sarah said.
Mina went down the stairs after checking Peach's condition while Joy and Sarah are waiting for her.
"Peach is fine but she still needs some rest. I already called your Aunt Yuriko and told her about it. I also asked her to excuse Peach for being absent today." Mina said to them.
"That's a relief!" Sarah said.
"Where is Peach? What happened to her?? Let me take care of her!!!" Khay just arrived looking for Peach but Joy and Sarah are pulling him down the stairs.
"No, you can't!" Sarah said to Khay.
"Peach needs to rest for the day. We will let you see her after school!" Joy added.
Khay stopped and sat on the stairs.
"I shouldn't have left her last night..." Khay said with a sad voice.
"Don't blame yourself, it is not your fault," Sarah told him while patting Khay's back.
"Besides, Peach will be fine soon. So you don't have to worry, she is a brave girl!" Joy said. Then they went to school together.

Cedric was absent the whole morning period, that is why Joy became more worried for him. At the lunch break, Joy took a ride on a tricycle and went to Cedric's house. She used the extra key and quickly went inside to find Cedric.
When she opened the door Joy saw some blood stains from the entrance and she followed it until the bathroom but no one was there inside.
So she tried to look all over the house and checking every room and she found Cedric sleeping inside of his room.
"Si - Sir? Are you OK?" Joy asked while walking closer to Cedric slowly, then she noticed that he is sweating a lot and shivering at the same time.
Joy touched his forehead and felt that he is burning from high fever.
"Oh no! Your too hot Sir!... I - I mean you have a high fever!" Joy said.
She moved Cedric and laid him down properly on his bed. Then she went to the kitchen to get some medicines, first aid kit, ice packs, and a small bucket of water with some ice and rubbing alcohol.
"I wonder where did you get your injuries, and I think you can't treat yourself properly." She said to Cedric while treating his wounds and put on the bandages properly.
Then after that, Joy tried to undress Cedric without looking at his lower body and put on his clean and comfortable clothes.
She cooked lugaw or rice porridge then made Cedric eat it by spoon-feeding him.
Every now and then Joy is checking on his temperature but his fever is not getting better.


"I think, I should take you to the hospital!" Joy said, but when she stands up Cedric stopped her by holding his hand.
"NO! I - I don't like it in the hospital... *Cough, Cough*" Cedric.
"But you are not getting better!" She added.
Cedric didn't reply because he fell asleep again.
Joy looked closely at Cedric while he is sleeping and she noticed that he looks like someone who is so precious to her.
"You know Sir, you look like my childhood friend. His name is Liel but I call him Li... I wish I could see him again."  Joy touched Cedric's face.
"I wish you were Liel..... Wait? What am I saying!? He can't be Liel! He doesn't even recognize who I am!... Also, the Masked Boy had my necklace. He might be Liel!"
Joy is talking to herself while walking around Cedric's bed out of confusion.
*COUGH, COUGH COUGH*
Liel is shivering and sweating more than before.

"This is not good! I need to do something!!" Joy touched her chest and realized she is wearing her father's necklace.
"My necklace! If I remember correctly, my father said this necklace can heal any sickness slowly." Then Joy put on her necklace to Cedric's neck.
After 10 minutes he stopped sweating and shivering.
"Thank goodness! He is getting better now." Joy was relieved, then she felt sleepy too so she took a nap beside Cedric.


One hour later, Cedric woke up first and noticed that he is wearing Joy's necklace. Then he looked beside him and saw Joy was sleeping.
"Thank you for taking care of me!" Cedric whispered to Joy then he kissed Joy on her forehead.
Joy moves a bit then after a few seconds, she opened her eyes.
"Ha -hi Sir! Are you feeling better now?... Are you hungry?? Is there anything you want me to cook for you? What time is it?? I better prepare it now." Joy asked.
"Hey - hey! Calm down will yah. Ahaha!" Cedric said while laughing.
"You're laughing at me now, but when I got here and saw you, I thought you'll gonna die!" Joy said with a pouty face. Then she also laughed.
