Chapter 15: KAPRE AND TIKBALANG


"Are you sure you don't want me to drive you home?" Cedric asked Joy.
"Yes Sir! Just stay here and rest. So you can go back to school on Monday." Joy replied with a smile.

Then they saw Nanay Mercy just arrived and greet them.
"As Joy requested, I came here earlier than expected." Nanay Mercy said.
"I'm sorry for the trouble Nanay Mercy. I just can't leave Cedric here alone when I know that he just recovered from sickness." Joy replied.

Then later, Joy waved goodbye to Cedric and Nanay Mercy.
"Isn't she a nice girl?!" Nanay Mercy said to Cedric and waving back to Joy.
"Yes!... Yes, she is!" Cedric replied but he is just looking at Joy while smiling.


"ATE JOY YOU ARE LATE!" Ian shouted when he saw Joy arrived.
"Haha! Sorry, little Bro!... You sound excited! You like to go back in Elementalia huh!?" Joy said while messing Ian's hair using her hand.
"ATE!!! MY HAIRRRRRR!!!" Ian complained while Roe is laughing at them.


"Where are Sarah and Peach? We should be going now! Is Mama here?" Joy asked.
"We are here at the kitchen Ate!.. Mama is with Kira. She asked me to lock the house before we leave because they need to restock the ingredients and buy some stuff at the market for the eatery." Sarah replied. Peach and Sarah are packing some food that they will bring to Elementalia.




At ELementalia…..


"Ahmmm. Ate Joy, I'm so sorry. I let my emotions control me that's why I was defeated by Laksurya." Peach apologized while she is looking down and feeling ashamed of herself.

"It's good, now that you know what you did was wrong. You better not do it again ok!?... Always think that we are here for you, no matter what! We are more than just a team. We are siblings!" Joy said.


After a while, they noticed that they are just going in circles.
"THIS IS BORING! My feet are getting tired!!!" Ian complained.
"Are we in the Kinnara forest again Roe?" Sarah asked Roe.
"No. This is a different forest… But I think, I've never been here before." Roe replied.


"Ian can you use the Libreta to give us direction.?" Joy said. Then Ian gets the Libreta in his backpack.
"What page was that again? Ah, here!..." Then Ian chants the spell from the Libreta.
"OH! KARUNUNGANG MULA SA ELEMENTALIA, MUNDONG PUNO NANG HIWAGA.  ITURO ANG KINAROROONAN NG AGIMAT NA MAKAPANGYARIHAN.!" Ian finished chanting the spell but nothing happened
"Why it's not working?" Ian asked Roe.

"I – I don't know!" Roe replied.
Then suddenly the ground shakes and the trees are falling closer and closer to them.
A big black tree giant with a hairy muscular body was falling and might squash them.
"IT'S A KAPRE!" Roe shouted. They run and dodge the falling trees and then prepared to attack the Kapre.
"WAIT! I think he doesn't mean to attack us!" Joy said.
"SAKIT! SAKIT! HUHU!" The Kapre cried.
"HUWAG NINYO SIYANG SASAKTAN! Please don't hurt him!" someone shouted.


"Who said that?" Peached asked.
"Look! Up there!" Ian was pointing at the shoulder of the Kapre, and they saw a creature that has a head and legs of a horse with a body of a human. This creature was called a Tikbalang.
Joy walked closer to the Kapre and talked to them.
"Mr. Tikbalang, can you tell us what happened?" Joy asked.
"Yeah! Why this giant was crying??" Peach added.
The Tikbalang went down and started telling them what happened.


"Yeah! Sure sure. By the way, my name is Batik… Because I have these spots beside my tail…" He turns around and showed them his behind.
So the Malaya siblings covered their eyes.
"Yak!" Ian whispered while Sarah was covering his eyes.
"And this is Gante… (pointing to the giant) We are traveling to visit his parents on the western side of this Island. But on our way, he didn't notice a big tree branch and he stepped on it. That is why he loses his control knocking down the trees in front of him." Batik added.


"Oh, poor Kapre." Sarah said out of pity.
"Mr. Gante, will you let me take a look at your foot?" Joy asked.
The Kapre just nodded then showed Joy his foot that was pricked by the big branch and Joy gently took it off.
"Ian give me the first aid kit." Joy said.
"Ate, you need a giant first aid kit to treat him!" Ian said sarcastically.


"Good idea! Roe, please take care of it." Joy put the first aid kit on the ground then Roe used her power to make it bigger.
After that Joy started treating Gante's wound and put bandages around his foot.
"There, it's done!" Joy said.
"MARAMING SALAMAT!" Gante said.
"Yes! Thank you very much." Batik.
"Your welcome!" Joy replied.


Then they both said goodbye to the Malaya siblings.
"Oh wait! I almost forgot to ask… MR. BATIK! MR. GANTE! HOW CAN WE GET OUT OF THIS FOREST???"
Sarah shouted.
"THAT'S EASY!! JUST GO TO THE BIGGEST TREE AT THE MIDDLE OF THE FORREST. UNDER THAT TREE THERE WAS *BLAH, BLAH, BLAH*" Batik shouted back before they became out of sight so fast because of Gante's giant steps.


"Did you understand what he said Sarah?" Joy asked.
"I can't hear the last words he said, but I do understand that we need to go to the biggest tree in the middle of the forest." Sarah replied.
"Oh! I can see it! Just follow me!" Roe said after she flew higher to see the biggest tree.
After an hour of walking.
"So, is this the biggest tree in this forest Roe?" Peach asked.
"Yes!" Roe replied.
"Let's start searching for clues." Joy said.
Then they look for anything or anyone that could tell them how to get out of the forest.
"Roe, don't follow me I just need to pee." Ian said.
Then he went beside the tree root.


Roe silently took a peek at Ian and she saw a big mound where Ian is peeing.
"No Ian! Do not pee in there!!" Roe said.
Ian quickly closed his pants.
"HEY! I SAID DON'T FOLLOW ME!!!" Ian shouted.
Then Ian suddenly felt so much pain.
"AW! AW! AW! Ouch!!!" Ian cried.
His big sisters run to him after they heard Ian crying in pain.
