Chapter 5: CEDRIC AND THE LIBRETA


"What is it, Miss Joy Malaya? Do you happen to know him?" Their teacher asked.
"N.No Sir. Sorry!" Joy said. Then her classmates laugh at her.
"OK, Mr. Martinez please introduce your self." The teacher said.
"My name is Cedric Martinez. Nice meeting you all." Cedric said while looking at embarrassed Joy.
"So handsome!", " My prince please sit beside me!" "No! He's mine!"
Their girl classmates whispers.
"Thank you, Mr. Martinez. Please take your seat at the back of Ms. Malaya near the window." Teacher. Then Cedric just ignored his new classmates and just sit quietly.

Before the first-period finishes...
"That's all for today class. We have an emergency meeting this afternoon, so your free to do club activities or just go home." Teacher.
"Yehey!", "Let's practice!", " I wanna go to the mall!" Different reactions of the class.
Joy buried her face on her desk thinking what to do. When suddenly Khay came and call her.
"Joy! My Mom, I mean the principal wants to see you in her office!." Khay said.
Joy is worried about the reason why she is called into the principal's office.


*knock, knock* "Can I come in Ma'am?" Joy.
"Told you, just call me Auntie Yuriko." Yuriko said.
"But you're the principal of this school. By the way, how can I help you... Auntie?" Joy.
"I heard that you are an acquaintance with your new classmate, so I have a favor to ask." Yuriko said. Joy doesn't like where this is going.
"Will you please give him a tour on our campus?" Yuriko asked Joy.
Joy has no choice but to say yes. "S.Sure Auntie."
She saw Cedric outside of the office waiting for them to come out.
"She will take care of you. I need to go to the meeting now! Bye!" Yuriko said to Cedric then she left the two.
Joy doesn't know what to say then Cedric asked Joy.
"So, where should we go first?"
"Y.Yeah!... In this building are mostly faculties and the offices and at the far end is the clinic." Joy explained.
"I know, I've been there earlier." Cedric.
"R.Right." Joy is starting to feel uncomfortable so she ended the tour quickly at the parking lot. They stopped where Joy parked her bike.
"That's the end of the tour. Is there any place you want to go?" Asked Joy but he did not answer.
"OK, I will now go home....." Joy ride her bike but she can't move it.
"Can you go home with that bike?" Cedric said while pointing at the bike's broken wheels. "I forgot its broken!" Joy cried.
Joy carried her bike and started walking. Suddenly Cedric's car stops on her way.
"Put your bike at the back of my car." Cedric said. But Joy can't process what is happening, so Cedric just gets the bike and put it at the back of his car.
"But, but, but!?" Joy. "No buts just go inside!" Cedric ordered. Then Joy did what he said.
"Is this your house?" Cedric asked. He drove Joy home and now they are at the front of Joy's house.
"Yes. Actually, the first floor is an eatery and the second floor has much room and we are just renting it." Joy explained.
Then they saw Peach and Sarah talking to their landlady which looks so mad.
"YOUR 2 MONTHS LATE FOR YOUR PAYMENT! IF YOU DON'T GIVE ME THE FULL PAYMENT BY THE END OF THIS MONTH, I WILL LOCK THIS HOUSE!" She shouted. Then she walked out.
"What was that about?" Cedric asked curiously.
"She is our landlady.. I need to go now. Thanks for the ride! But don't think we're even! You still need to pay for my bike's repair and for the ruined packed lunches." Joy said.
"But my car repair is more expensive." Cedric replied.
"I guess your right!" Joy cried. Then Cedric left.

"Who's that Ate?" Sarah asked. "He is the transfer student." Joy answered.
"I heard he is rich and handsome! Good catch Ate Joy!" Peach.
"It's not like that Peach!" Joy said.




One full moon night.....

Ian got home very late so he needs to go inside of his room quietly. When he is about to climb up the stairs a tricycle stopped at the front of their house, he hides under the table when he noticed that someone is unlocking their door.
"That's Mama! Where did she came from?" He whispered to himself.
He noticed that something is glowing inside his mother's bag. Being curious Ian followed his mother and he peeks inside his mother's room through the door.
Mina picked up the mysterious glowing item and put it inside a hidden cabinet behind the big picture frame.
"Wait here, I need to perform the  ritual first before the full moon disappears." Mina whispered to it then it stops glowing then she put back the big frame after closing the hidden cabinet.
Mina hurriedly goes outside and ride to the same tricycle that is waiting for her. Ian quickly hide on his room before his mother noticed him, and when he is sure that his mother is gone he came back to his mother's room to check on that mysterious item inside the hidden cabinet.


Meanwhile.....
After a short trip, the tricycle stopped  at the foot of the hill.
"I'm still wondering why you always go here almost thrice a month?" The driver asked  while Mina is paying him.
"I can't tell you Manong. Sorry!" Mina said then she run to the top of the hill.
She prepared the ritual near the big balete tree. When she was about to start, she noticed that a big dark cloud started to cover the moon.
"This is a bad omen!" Mina told herself. Then she saw a beam of light piercing the dark clouds going down where their house is located.


At the house.....

The three girls heard a loud noise and there's a quick splash of light that wakes them up. They searched the house for robbers but they only find Ian inside their mother's room.
"Ian what are you doing here?" Joy asked.
"There's! THERE'S A GHOST!!!" Ian freaks out.
As soon as the three girls steps inside their mother's room, the bottles inside the hidden cabinet broke and thick colorful smokes enveloped them. The smoke goes inside their body and returns their powers as half fairies.
"What just happened?" Sarah asked. "This feeling! Its so warm!" Peach said.
"I know this! I feel that our powers are back!" Joy said.
They saw Ian lying on the floor unconscious.
"Ian are you alright?" Joy tried to wake him up but as soon as he wakes up Ian started to freaked out again.
"BIG SIS! THERE'S A GHOST! IT-It appeared from that book!!!" Ian pointed behind the table so they go take a look.
"That is our father's Libreta!" Joy.
When Joy tried to pick up the book it suddenly floats in the air and then they heard a small voice.

"Nice meeting you chosen ones. I've been waiting for you since hundreds of years ago!" A pixie is making the book float and  it flew to Ian and hugged his face.
"Thank you so much for releasing me!" It said. Ian was startled.
"Take it off me! Take it off!!!" Ian shouted.

Then the pixie flew in front of them.
"Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Roe and I'm at your service! I will help you to be the Great Guardians and save the two worlds..... But first! Can I have something to eat?? I'm so hungry!!!" Roe said. She started to fall then Joy catch her.
They give almost all their food but she doesn't liked any of it.
"There! A fruit!" Roe.
She flew on it then started eating the apple on the table which is like half of her height.
"Roe can we ask you?... What are these Guardians that you are saying awhile ago?" Sarah.
*Munch, munch*
"The Guardians? The Guardians are the powerful warriors and protector of the Human world and Elementalia world!." She explained.
The triplets just looked with each other while Ian is just listening from afar.
