Chapter 21: SIRENA
At the Balete tree...
"We need to move to another place; our house is not safe now," Sarah said.
"I can ask Cedric if we can stay at his house while we are looking for a place to rent." Joy suggested.
After the Tiyanak incident, the Triplets are worried that their place is not safe, especially now that they know the Deadly Sins might attack them again.
"That is the reason why you need to find the amulets sooner… Anywhere is not safe as long as the Deadly Sins are still here." Mina said, convincing her children.
"But what if they attack you while we are in Elementalia?... I'd rather stay here to protect you, Mama!" Peach said, hugging her mother.
"You don't have to worry about me. I can protect myself. Roe helped me put up a barrier to our house so it will be invisible to other creatures aside from humans." Mina said.
"We should go now. So we can have more time to find the amulets," Roe reminded them.
Mina senses someone is watching them, and after the Malaya siblings went into the portal, Mina called him, which is the Masked Boy.
"Please show yourself!" Mina said.
The Masked Boy comes out where he is hiding then walks closer to Mina then bows down to her.
"Who are you?... Are you the one who brought us back the Libreta and helping my children to become Guardians?" Mina asked.
"Yes. And I'm here to protect you, Great Diwata and mother of the Guardians." The Masked Boy replied.
"But why are you doing this? Why did you have the Libreta? And how did you know about the Guardians?... How did you know about us?" Continues question of Mina.
"You will soon receive the answers to your questions… I will be around while watching you until the Guardians come back." The Masked Boy replied, then he left and hid again.
At Elementalia…
"Do you think Mama Mina will be OK on her own?" Sarah asked.
"Your mother lost much of her powers, but she can still protect herself," Roe replied.
"THIS IS ANNOYING!... Why are we in a forest again??" Ian complained.
"I'm also hoping we will go somewhere pretty and refreshing!" Peach added.
"We are not here for a vacation." Joy reminded them.
Then suddenly they heard something like waves coming from the sea.
"Do you hear what I hear!?" Ian said, then he ran ahead of his big sisters.
"It's a BEACH!... YAHOO!!!" Ian shouted after he took off his clothes and got ready to jump into the water.
But Joy holds his shorts to stop him.
"The creatures of this place might become angry if you suddenly jump into the water." Joy said, warning her little brother.
"I think your right Ate Joy… Look, Sirena!" Sarah said while pointing at the rocky side of the beach.
"My eyes don't deceive me, right?... Mermaids! So many mermaids!!" Peach was so glad to see real-life mermaids.
They are all beautiful with a different colorful fishtails.
Some mermaids are resting, and some are playing at the seashore.
When the Malaya siblings walked closer to them, the mermaids became cautious.
Then the mermaids change their appearances from beautiful women into fierce, scary sea monsters about to attack the siblings.
"Wait!... I think they are the Guardians." A mermaid with a green tail noticed Joy's necklace and stopped other mermaids from attacking.
Then they became calm, and they returned to their beautiful appearances.
"We know the reason why you are here." The blue-tailed mermaid said.
"You are looking for the 'Agimat's." The pink-tailed mermaid added.
"Do you know where we can find it?" Sarah asked.
"It is located at the deepest part of the sea, inside the hidden cave guarded by a sea dragon called Bakunawa." Pink-tailed mermaid explained.
"If we work together, we can get the talisman faster." Joy suggested.
"Only one person is allowed to get the Agimat." The Blue-tailed mermaid said.
Sarah's hands were shaking in fear, but she was determined to get the Talisman.
"Let me do it alone, Ate Joy!... I can use my power to make a water balloon so I can still breath underwater." Sarah said.
"OK, Sarah. I trust you." Joy replied.
"You can do it, Ate Sarah!" Peach said.
"Be careful! As much as possible, don't make the Bakunawa wake up." Roe warned Sarah.
"GO ATE SARAH! DEFEAT THAT BAKUNAWA!" Ian shouted.
Sarah walked into the water then used her power to move it and form a giant water bubble filled with air while she was inside it.
Then she started to move deeper under the sea.
"Ate Joy, what is Bakunawa again?" Ian asked.
"Bakunawa is a dragon believed to cause the lunar eclipses by swallowing the whole moon." Joy explained.
"The Bakunawa in Elementalia lives at the moon but likes sleeping under the sea. And only causes the eclipse whenever she goes back to her home passing through a portal that covers it." Roe said.
"Why don't we just wait for the eclipse so she will leave the Talisman unguarded," Ian suggested.
"Here in Elementalia, Lunar eclipse only occurs once in one hundred years, and the solar eclipse occurs once in one thousand years." The yellow-tailed mermaid said.
"If that's the case, the only thing we can do now is to wait for Sarah to come back safely with the Talisman." Joy said while looking at the sea.
"A – A – ATEEEH!!!" Ian shouted while a young mermaid was pulling him into the water.
"Haha! I thought you wanted to swim?" Roe said, laughing at Ian.
"Yeah! Let's swim while waiting… Good thing I'm prepared!" Peach is already wearing her swimsuit underneath her clothes.
Then she joins Ian and the mermaids playing in the water while Roe is just watching them.
A mermaid who looks like their leader notice that Joy is lost in her thoughts and seems worried.
"Having second thoughts about your sister?" She said.
"No – Not really. I know Sarah can do it." Joy replied.
"Then, what's bothering you?" Mermaid leader asked.
"Is - there a Guardian who can't use his weapon?" Joy said.
"Yes, there is. You know, this place is where the first Elemental Guardians used to train before. They are all having trouble using their weapons at first." She replied.
"What did they do so they could use their weapons?" Joy asked.
"They just look deep into their heart." Mermaid Leader said.
"Summon your weapon, then deep them into the water." She added.
Joy did what the Mermaid Leader said, then her weapons shine, and suddenly, Joy saw some images on the water.
"The images that you see are your True Feelings. And those feelings are reflected your weapons." Mermaid Leader explained.
"My True Feelings?" Joy whispered to herself.
