Chapter 16: NUNO SA PUNSO AND MARIA MANINGNING




"Roe what happened??" Joy asked.

"Ian was cursed!" Roe replied

"CURSED???" the triplets said at the same time.

Suddenly all things became bigger and bigger than them, before the whole place changes from a forest into a cave like area with torches around the walls.



"Where are we?" Sarah asked.

"I think this is where the Nuno's live." A beautiful winged woman with long purple hair replied.

"ROE, IS THAT YOU???" the triplets said.

"You're so PRETTY!!!" Peach added, while Ian's mouth was left opened with disbelief until he felt so much pain again in his sensitive part.

"Oh no! Ian, are you alright?" Sarah asked to Ian.



Malaya siblings became smaller and now they are the same height of Roe.

"What disrespectful humans are doing here in Elementalia?" an old man with long beard and pointed ears appeared in front of them.

He wears an old cape that covers his body and a salakot, a traditional wide-brimmed hat made of rattan or reeds and he really looked mad.

"Pardon me Sir. Nuno sa Punso, but may I ask if you are the owner of this mound?" Roe asked.

"I am the Chief Nuno and I also made the curse upon that boy." The Chief Nuno replied.

"But whatever my little Bro did, I know he didn't mean to…"

"SILENCE!" the Chief Nuno shouted at Peach, that's why she stopped what she was saying.



"What he did was disrespect! And so, he deserves to be punished!" he added.

"Allow me to speak Chief Nuno… On behalf of my little brother, I sincerely apologize for what he did." Joy kneeled in front the Chief Nuno.

Then Sarah and Peach did the same. "Please forgive our little brother!" They both said.

"B – Big sisters!" Ian whispered while he was trying to reach them.

"I will lift the curse on one condition. One of you will help us in building our mound and make it stronger." The Chief Nuno said.



"Allow me to do it!" Joy volunteered.

"But Ate!?" Sarah.

"I'm the only one who can do it, Sarah. Remember, you can't use your levitation power on heavier objects for too long!" Joy said with full of determination and confidence to herself.

"You and Peach will stay here and take care of Ian." Joy added.

Then she followed the Nuno Chief at the end of the cave, and Joy saw an amazing sight.



"This is the Nuno Village of Elementalia." He said.

The place is like a small city or village with houses that looks like mounds in different sizes, with windows and a door.

"Wow! I did not expect to see a strange place like this inside a mound." Amazed Joy said.

"All the Nuno in Elementalia lives in here. And as a Chief, my duty is to protect this village and also guard the exit of the forest." The Chief Nuno replied.



They walked until they reach the side of the village where many houses are still on construction.

"If I help you in building, will you help us get out of the forest too?" Joy asked.

"The answer depends on you." He said.

He told Joy everything she need to do, then Joy is doing anything they asked her without complaining.

After three days the Chief Nuno lifted the curse on Ian.

"Your brother is fine now and you are free to go." Chief Nuno said.

"But the construction is not yet finish?!" Joy looked around and realized that she still wants to help them.

"I know!... Will you let my siblings help too?" Joy asked.



"Are you sure Ate Joy? Shouldn't we look for the agimat first?" Sarah whispered to Joy.

"If we help them, we can finish the construction faster and we still have enough time to look for the agimat." Joy insisted.

So the Malaya siblings helped the Nuno's. Joy and Peach together with the Nuno's continued building the houses all over their village, while Sarah and the Chief Nuno is strengthening their mound outside.

Sarah can't help, but to ask questions to the Chief Nuno while they are working together.



"Chief Nuno, can I ask why do you need to do this?" Sarah.

"We are preparing for the war… Since the Deadly Sins have returned, the King of the Underworld might soon rise and take over this world." Chief Nuno replied.

"How did you know about the return of the Deadly Sins?" Sarah asked again.

"We can still communicate with the other Nuno's in the Human world." He said while he is about to disappear and went inside the mound.

"Wait! I still have more questions!"  Sarah.

"You will find the answers you seek, once you went outside the forest." The Chief Nuno's voice.



Three more days had passed before they finished. All the Nuno's give their thanks to the Malaya siblings berfore the Chief send them outside of the forest. Once they opened their eyes, a mystical meadow full of flowers was waiting for them and they all return to their normal sizes.

"SOOOO PRETTY!!!" Peach shouted.

"This place is like a paradise!" Sarah added.

The triplets were amazed with what they are seeing while Ian is scratching his nose.

"AAACHOOO!" Then his big sisters and Roe all looked at Ian.

"WHAT??... This flowers are making my nose itchy!" Ian complained.



They are busy admiring the flowers when suddenly Joy saw a woman beside the tree near the small lake.

The woman has a long shiny hair and wearing a sparkly white dress.

"Perhaps she is the Chief Nuno was telling us who can answer our questions." Joy went to the tree where she saw the woman but she was gone when Joy got closer.

"Looking for me??" A smooth lovely voice whispered to her ears.

"Who's there? Please show yourself!?" Joy said while looking where the voice was coming from.

Suddenly a warm breeze touches Joy's skin, then the woman appeared hugging her.

"I missed you so much! Did you change your hair?... You look younger now!" She said.



Joy's siblings followed her and saw them.

"Ate Joy, who is she?" Sarah asked.

"She is so beautiful, like an angel!" Peach.

"May be a white lady!" Ian added while hiding to Sarah.

"Haha! Your silly Ian! She is not a white lady, nor an angel. She is a Diwata like you and your mother." Roe explained.

"Roe is that you? You haven't change a bit!... You are still small and purple!" The Diwata hugged Roe like there's no tomorrow.

"Miss Maria Manining! Please let go of me. I can't breathe!!!"  Roe pleaded.
