Another day came. Thankfully, they still took me along despite what happened yesterday.

We walked around the forests. I was already able to memorize our route. The scenery was getting dull.

“Something is up ahead. There’s smoke.” said Waluf.

As per Waluf’s lead, we headed up north. We were able to spot the monsters, there were four of them. They were sitting around a camp fire. Their weapons were lying beside them.

Roc was about to give commands when Waluf intervened.

“Wait, there are more of them.”

“You are right, Brother. There are many!” Bartz added.

As we were talking, the monsters were able to notice us. They took up their weapons and released an ear grating screech.

I firmed my grip on my spear and started charging at them. Yet Roc easily picked me up and then ran south. The rest followed him.

“They were going to fight back. Why stop me?” I asked.

“There’s too many. It’s dangerous,” said Roc.

“That’s right. It would be bad if we get caught between multiple bunches,” Waluf added.

We retreated south. Yet even though we fled at a fast pace, we were obviously being pursued. We were already near the caverns when Roc stopped.

“We need to fight,” he said.

“You’re right. If we run further then we will lead them back home.” Waluf scratched his head. “But it is dangerous, they are coming from multiple directions.”

“Straight north, north west, and then east.” Bartz alternately pointed at the directions.

“I’ll go north. Waluf and Bartz, north west. Sven and Jella, east.” Roc directed.

“Are you sure you’re going to send them alone? It will be dangerous!” Bartz protested.

“Don’t worry about them. Jella is the strongest, remember?” Waluf patted the young boy’s head.

“But…”

“Enough. We’ll attack now. Let’s go!” Roc commanded before he ran straight up north.

“Take care of Sven, alright Jella?” Waluf instructed before he went off with Bartz.

I and Jella were left. We headed east as we were instructed. Not a while longer and we encountered the beasts. Their arms were all ready. They were clearly hostile.

There were five of them. Jella sprinted off and engaged them before I did. The beasts were slashing her with blades from different directions but none of it hurt Jella. She was able to evade it all gracefully.

While they were occupied I took the opportunity to kill them on by one. I made sure to target either their neck, chest, or head to make quick work of them.

I was able to three kill in an instant thanks to Jella’s distraction. Unfortunately, the remaining two had their sights fixed on me. They simultaneously rushed at me while shrieking.

Jella appeared behind one of the beasts. She used her arms to crush its neck. The one who was left was stricken by fear due to Jella’s attack. That allowed me to make short work of it.

With that, dinner was secured.
