Ryu left the cave with bruises and burns from the dragon. He asked Selia for some treatment when she raise her voice for going alone in the dungeon. I calm her down saying I made it out alive somehow and she treated him and went home.

On the next day, he goes to the marketplace and to find some equipment resistant to fire to a degree of not getting burn. To his luck, he found a store with a simple robe at a glass frame. He talked about the price and security. The storeowmer replied having thieves snatched one of his robe and so glass were put. He asked for a desired price and told the owner to reserve it.

He got to the adventure hall to look at the quest for his current rank erank and to his disappointment. Even completing all of them, it wont be enough. He looked at the higher ones and caught an interest of a pack of wolves at the C territory. He asked the teller about the quest, his rank is erank and considered to be suicidal. Some of the people laughed hearing a e-rank taking a c-rank quest. He took his leave after overhearing a tentacle monster at the last raid. Having a description of tentacles eating a dead monster infront of the adventurers, Ryu got another bad reputation again.

The only way to be able to accept c-rank quest is to rank up. There is a physical test center at a coliseum east side of the town. Ryu got enlist and watches other adventurers to show their skills with the representative of the kingdom of the east. (the town where Ryu is under the domain of the kingdom of the east)

"Ryu Line pls, e-rank", the representative Arank swordsman.

Ryu steps to the arena and shows his kerchief. Fellow adventurer murmured about the kerchief guy wanting to rank up.

"just do whatever you can", the rep said.

Ryu charges in.

Is he planning to be a striker(fist type), without such gauntlet, rep thought preparing his sword.

Ryu changed his kerchief into a blade and strike the rep. They returned swords with Ryu at the offensive. As  rep's charges in, The kerchief blade turned into regular kerchief and covered the sword and followed it with a right hook.

The examination was done. He got c-rank without showing his tentacles that might give much attention. He got the quest he wanted and travelled at dawn.

He crossed paths to some adventurers calling it a day, saying hunting monsters get more difficult and stronger by nightfall.

Ryu found the wolves and unleashed his tentacles into the targets. Without him doing anything, the tentacles moved freely and slain the wolves from a distance. An alpha wolf came and dodges the attacks. Ryu retrieved his tentacles and changed it into a shield

Ryu charges as the alpha wolf leaps. as the wolf claws touched the shield. Spikes came from the shield injuring the wolf to its knees. As the alpha wolf sent his final cry, Ryu finished him with a slash.

Ryu got the quest completed and retrieved nothing from the wolf.

Next day, he collected his rewards and go straight to the store.

It got sold to its original price. Ryu was shocked upon reserving and agreeing to a price. The storeowner pointed outside the person having the robe. Ryu ran out and calls out the one with the robe demanding his effort and bargaining.Being ignored, he touched the person by its shoulder only to be revealed a lady under it.

"Commander!, someone shouted

Suddenly armoured knights encircled Ryu swords up.

How dare you touched the vice commander of the kingdom of the east?, the captain of the knights said.

Ryu react by confusion as the captain introduced the vice commander Alexandria who got Ryu's robe.
