Later that night—The cold summer air of the Underworld enveloped my body as I walked through the garden. I’m supposed to meet somebody here tonight.

After reaching the middle of the garden, I forcefully summoned Drynth using Fazla, a summoning magic that forcefully summons the entity you need, without the need of creating a magic circle. It uses the summoner’s blood as the trigger to activate the spell. It requires a fair amount of mana and blood. The blood used generates the appropriate magic circle for the entity being summoned.

It’s also a must that the summoner must chant the spell like this: “Come to me, (name of the entity being summoned), Fazla. Only the demon king to low class or S to F rank have to use the chant. Above them doesn’t require the chant, and can work without blood, or by just saying Fazla.

A boy emerged from the green magic circle, revealing the young noble I defeated earlier.

“It’s nice to see you in good health, My Lord.” Drynth greeted while kneeling on the ground. The magic circle disappeared.

I should be the one saying that…

“Looks like you’re still good, Drynth. I want you to look into the Sitri family for me. Especially Hugo Sitri.”

“I have an ample knowledge about the future Head of the House of Sitri, My Lord. Would you like to hear them?” Drynth said that intrigued me a bit.

Looks like I can get some before going out.

“Very well. Let’s hear it.”

“Hugo Sitri is one of the ten demon kings who’s ranked 8th , only a rank higher from your sister. He is also quite skilled in magic. It was also rumored that he has a weapon, but nobody knows what it is.” Drynth said while looking at me, I started thinking.

“Quite skilled in magic, huh… anyways, look into the weapon he has until the rematch. You will also join, no?” I said as I internally checked the area if a spy is listening.

“Of course, to be with my lord is my duty. Furthermore, I want to try out the power my lord gave me.” He said, still kneeling. The aura of excitement started leaking out from his body.

He’s excited alright.

“Um.. my lord, will you hear my selfish request?” Drynth started talking again.

A request, huh… haven’t experienced this thing since 2000 years ago, might as well spoil him a bit.

“Sure.”

“I have been kicked out of the family ever since you defeated me, my lord. I have nowhere else to go, so I wish to live with you until I get myself a decent house…” Drynth said that made me narrowed my eyes.

Now that’s just wrong. I guess values have changed.

Since I’m the one responsible, might as well answer his request.

“Sure, I’ll have one of our maids ready a room for you. On that note, Mari, I know you’re there!” I yelled, glancing behind me.

The rustles of the leaves echoed through the garden. It got louder and louder, then a maid with orange hair appeared.

Drynth was looking at her, head to toe. Mari tilted her head on one side, wondering where Drynth was looking.

“This here is Mari Genoia, one of our maids. Mari, this is Drynth, my new servant.” I introduced the two of them, Drynth offered a handshake which Mari took gratefully.

“Good, good. So, Mari prepare a room for him, also ask Treia to tell my dad about this.” I ordered her.

We followed her from behind while we talk about things. He was introduced to dad, who gladly took him in since he’s my first servant.

We were guided to one of the guest room. The guest room has an elegant feel to it, and there are some paintings whose artist I do not know of.

“Thank you very much, my lord. For granting this man’s request.” Drynth said kneeling on one knee.

I gave him a smile, accompanied with a light pat on his shoulder.

“Just rest for the day, you have a job to take care of starting tomorrow.” I said as I turned around to leave the room.

As I walk across the hallway, I encountered Jaune carrying some books.

“Yo, be prepared tomorrow.” I said looking straight to her eyes.

“I will live to your expectation, young master.” She said.

“Hmm… have a good night sleep. Don’t stay up late.” I said waving her off.

Morning—The rays of the Sun shone through the window, waking me up. I drew a magic circle using my magic and changed in to my usual wear.

Closing my eyes, I took a deep breath and contacted Drynth via Thought Communication.

“Drynth—are you there?”

“Yes, my lord.”

Seems like he can hear me. I couldn’t find his presence anywhere in the mansion using Clairvoyance, so I sent him an encrypted call.

“Where are you right now?”

“It is of great pleasure that my lord wants to know my location. I’m currently at the borderlands of Sitri.”

Huh? What kind of pleasure am I even giving you? He’s also a hard worker, might as well praise him personally when he gets back.

“Report anything you find suspicious.”

“As you wish.” He said, I cut off the encrypted call and opened my eyes.

Standing up, I went out of the room and headed to the dining room.

Breakfast today was a heavy one. Flying boar meat, griffin dumplings, and platypus egg fried rice. Just our typical meal, nothing special. Jaune also ate with us.

Feeling full, I fired an explosion outside to release some of my excess mana. A crater that is around 1km in diameter appeared on the ground where I fired the explosion. The reverberations reached the mansion, some debris were thrown in the air.

Due to my sensitive senses, I can hear the nearby village making a ruckus about the explosion.

“That was some explosion, young master.” Treia appeared from my side.

“Back in the days, we fire explosions, powerful enough to erase a continent. It was our daily routine.” I said while reminiscing the days of the Great War.

“Stop looking at me like that, Treia. It makes me think that I’m a supernatural, not that I can deny that I am one though…” Treia gave me a dumbfounded look. I guess this kind of early routine was unnatural in this era.

After some time, Jaune prepared her gears. Although I call it ‘gears’ it’s just her wand and broom. I just made sure that I surrounded the borders of the village and the manor with a barrier that can withstand our attacks.

Minutes later—Jitreim, Sona, and Mistress Hana arrived. Mistress in her usual dress, Sona in a sailor uniform, and Jitreim in his magical girl outfit.

Apparently, Jitreim’s outfit today is something that is pretty similar to what the spirits wear. Take for example, Gaia, The Great Mother. She wears a similar outfit but with different colors and style. It is also used by some spirits who married other beings. It is also a hit in the human world since it’s used by some humans, mages back in the days also wears it.

Jaune and I slowly approached each other in front of the three judges.

“Okay, so any of you got ‘em last words?” Jitreim waved his wand as he said the words.

“The winner will be decided when one of you is incapacitated, or gives up. The two of you got any questions?” Ignoring brother’s inquiry, mistress announced the criteria of winning, which is basically “If you die, you lose.” We only shook our head.

“Oh! That reminds me, the defeated will do anything what the victorious asks, regardless of common morals.” Mistress continued.

Ho… so there’s this kind of condition now…

“Well then, the two of you, get in to position!” Mistress shouted.

A distance of 100 meters was now present between me and Jaune.

“FIGHT!!”

Hearing those words, Jaune fired Fuego at me. My barrier blocked it. But an explosion followed. When the smoke cleared up, she was no where in sight. She must’ve used Explosion after casting Fuego, because Fuego can’t create an explosion unless you reached the magic abyss.

Seeing her attacks were easily neutralized, she fires another spell..

Inferno.”

Giram.”

Feeling her presence, I teleported outside her attack range. But then a ball of fire approached the spot where my Giram connected, making me use another spot to teleport immediately. Suddenly, a bullet broke through my defenses that caught me off guard, however, the part where I was pierced regenerated at a surprising speed.

“Ho-How did you escaped that?”

Jaune looks stunned. She probably did not expect that I could read that far ahead. Well, I don't know who fired that bullet, but it certainly pierced through my barrier. Not that it matters now.

The spot where Inferno hit, was now engulfed in a sea of flame.

“That was a splendid attack, Jaune. I underestimated you. But prepare for this.” I said, my aura started to leak out.

As my demon eye started glowing, black lightning started to cover my body. Making sure my perception of Jaune is still stable, I released the magic.

She began to construct various barriers.

Seda Mritra.”

Crackling sounds echoed through the field. Black lightning started to burst out in all directions through my body, reaching a radius of 100 meters. This is one of the Origin Magic I developed, making them easy for me to use.

Jaune’s barrier barely blocked it, weakening her. At another wave of her wand, another ball of sphere formed. This time, it’s even denser than before.

Incendium Ultima.”

The ball of blue fire that looks like a comet, was released and was now steadily approaching me at great speed.

“Ampes.”

I counterattacked using the Black Hell Fire, Ampes. I released the spell, and the two sphere of fire started colliding with each other. The one I threw, being the highest type of fire magic and also classified as an Origin Magic, cancelled out the one released by Jaune.

The one I released still being active, approached Jaune at an even greater speed, hitting her and burning her body. An explosion, far superior than the ones I released, destroyed the surrounding area, leaving a crater that is about the size of a whole lake.

Just when I thought that it’s finished, Jaune’s body started regenerating. Her mana should be near its limits.

“You have no chance of winning against me, Jaune.” It’s true though… Fighting me from the very beginning is already suicide itself.

“N-No m-ma-matt-tter ho-how long it WILL TAKE, I-I, JAUNE, WILL SURELY DEFEAT YOU YOUNG MASTER!!” Shouting her will with a half-baked, and I mean literally baked, body… she’s a head strong one. But very commendable indeed, improving her magic will probably give her an advantage.

“That’s certainly commendable, Jaune. Rio Frida.”

A magic circle formed just above Jaune, and countless meteors started pouring. Some hits the ground while the others are repelled by the barrier that Jaune made. After 5 collisions with the meteors, her barrier broke and got struck countless times.

"Hey! That's rude!" She yelled.

"All is fair, in love and war." I replied.

Well, this is a battlefield. No matter what I do will never be considered as foul.

“I’ll be blunt here, Jaune. Your power, compared to the pure blood demons in this era, is far stronger. But against me, and also as it is now, you’re nothing than a low class demon from the era of the Great War. If you think you have a chance against me, then try to survive this.”

I said while developing a condensed orb, also known as, a core. Jaune’s tattered body is barely healing now. Blood started pouring out of her body. Her burns are also healing, but not in a good pace.

“Core Creation, Kern Estrellen. As the name states, it creates a core… and do you know the fun part about this, Jaune?”

I should’ve been stopping by now, but before me is an aspiring subordinate. I can’t make her think that she can take on her master.

The orb I was creating had a tinge of red in it. The Core of Lucifer, one of the most destructive core that existed. The core can be created with an attribute of life force, and a core with only a large amount of mana.

Of course, I’m not so cruel as to create a core with life force in it. That would just make me a murderer. Given that, I only created a core with a large amount of mana. At least, that would just be me destroying this land.

I turned to face Jaune. Her face filled with despair.

“I can make it explode… hahahaha. Well, if I were you I would be creating and fortifying my barrier.”

“Yo-You’re going …. t-to kill a soul….j-just so you can...*cough*…. de-defeat me?”

“Too bad, but I’m not that cruel. I don’t do senseless killing anymore.”

This magic was only ever created by me. Since I can perfectly create the cores of everything in the universe, this much was to be expected. However, there are limitations. As a reincarnated being, I can only exercise a tenth of my original power, adding the seals I created and placed on myself, I can only use 2-3% at most.

Also, most of the magic I created were Origin Magic, meaning most the magic is nothing but a piece of cake for me. Normally, Origin Magic can consume one’s core, but the creator of the said magic will never be drained of mana and core, and it also doesn’t affect the creator. Meaning I can negate all Origin Magic fired at me, while I can fire off Origin Magic without breaking a sweat.

But continuous uses will lead to my body being exhausted and it also has a high mana consumption depending on the spell you use. That’s just the down part, but everything else is superficial.

She started creating barriers after barriers. It’s still pretty lightweight though.

“Now, Jaune, prepare to taste the power of your master…. Core Explosion, Gia Aleph.”

Completing the core, I released my grip. The core started falling at a slow pace. When the core touched the ground, I prepared myself and poured a lot of magic on my barrier. The shockwaves will be something I can’t neutralize.

A blinding red light, accompanied by a large explosion erupted at around a 1km radius. I’m currently flying using my wings to replenish my mana.

Seconds later, loud crackling sounds can be heard. Apparently, the core has entered the final phase and started releasing deadly black lightning.

The first phase was the blinding red light, as it is the signal of the impending explosion. Where as, the explosion was the second phase. The last phase, the core ensures that no one can survive the explosion inside the 1km radius by emitting black lightning.

This is the true power of Origin Magic. Origin magic was only created for only one reason; for battle. Most Origin magic are for destruction, creation, offense, and defense.

The forbidden magic and the suicidal magic that was created, Gia Aleph. This was used in the Great War to slaughter armies of Valkyries. It either uses the core generated by the caster, the core of the target, or the core of the caster. It is forbidden because of the fact that it sacrifices one’s life and ability to reincarnate, it is also suicidal in that sense. It is used by mages, heroes, and other beings as a last resort if the situation ever gets dire. I created this as a way to make the cores of the Valkyries explode by interfering with their core.

Spreading out my wings, I replenished the mana I exerted. It was then that I noticed that someone is preparing a powerful Holy magic.

Using my thumbnail to cut my index finger, blood started to pour out.

Grand.”

A drop of blood fell from my finger, that soon turned into a blinding white light then exploded. It seems that Jaune hasn’t back down yet. She’s actually pretty impressive. She survived Gia Aleph, I guess I have no choice but to accept her as my subordinate.

Her fighting style also reminds me of the Red Tyrant.

“Wonderful. Absolutely wonderful. You exceeded my expectations, Jaune. You truly are worthy of being my subordinate.”

I let out an exhausted sigh and located her body.

Azrael!? Can you hear me!?” A thought communication was transmitted to me.

What is it?

Jaune’s dead, we can’t sense her now. It’s your win, also…

Also?

RESSURECT HER! YOU’RE WAY TOO BRUTAL!!!

Mistress’ voice echoes to my head, so her yelling slightly made it hurt. What’s she on about? 2000 years ago, this barely counts as exercise.

After locating her body, I descended on the ground where Jaune is laying looking like a charcoal now. I extended my hand forward and a drop of blood fell to the ground, magic circle forming.

Mangri.”

A trembling girl hugging her broomstick emerged from the magic circle.

“How was it, Jaune?” I asked while giving her a light smile. She turned to face me, her face a bit blue. She’s probably scared of me.

“Gu…. Fu… Uwaaahhh….” Good grief, she started crying.

How nostalgic… She really reminds me of her…

I tried to reach out to her but she’s backing away and looked at me like I’m a monster.

Mistress and the others have arrived and comforted the crying Jaune.

I removed the barrier I activated around the place. I also released my wings, making them disappear from sight.

Sona then approached me with a stern look on her face.

“Listen here bro, you went overboard this time. No, in fact, your magic was waaay too brutal. It can’t even be called a match, it’s more of a one-sided beating.”

Sona started scolding me. Good grief, a big brother getting scolded by his little sister? Looks like my pride as a big brother is beginning to crumble.

“Can you teach me the last magic you used!?”

Her eyes began to sparkle. Should I? Or should I not? Grand is an easy magic to pick up, it just requires mana and blood, and boom you get.

“Fill me in on that as well, Azi. It’s a great magic for research.”

Apparently, even brother Jitreim is interested. Looks like I’ve got no other choice, but it should’ve been handed down…

“That spell was basically handed down, though. If I remember correctly, most of the magic I used should be handed down by the Demon Kings and the Tyrants.”

I replied. He gave me a puzzled look, I just ignored it.

It should’ve been passed down, right? Well, I guess those who inherited my magic can’t pass down those spells nonchalantly.

Origin Magic requires either life force, or a large amount of mana. It can spell doom to anyone who uses it carelessly, not just the one casting it but also the surrounding beings and environment can be affected.

While walking, Mistress’ turned to me. She let out a gentle voice, but her eyes…

“You will apologize to Jaune after she recovers. Right, Azrael?”

“Uh.. Mm. Sure.”

Her eyes! Scary!

Mistress is in front of us, walking alongside Jaune who has calmed down by now. In front of me, were Jitreim and Sona talking about magic as always. And I was the one at the rear by myself.

We went home by foot since they needed to comfort Jaune, and the forest was the best place to do that. The fresh air and the refreshing atmosphere of the forest made me calm, and also a bit sleepy. I was exhausted after all.

I’ve also transferred some mana to Jaune secretly. Mana is essential for mages, if she runs out, she might not survive.

Thinking of a way to apologize to her before going home, I sent her a Thought Communication.

Jaune? Can you hear me? Sorry for that, but I now accept you as my subordinate. By tomorrow, we will set out to Earth.”

Master… scary…

I know, I know. Come to my room tonight, I have something for you.”

She glanced at my direction with a questioning look, but I just gave her a light smile.

With that, I ended the magic. Fufu.. she worked hard today, so the least I could do is give her a reward for that. Although it stings when she said that I was scary. Well, I am the being who slaughtered gods and the one who almost destroyed an entire Mythology. This much power was to be expected.

After that we continued to walk. By the time we arrived at the gates of the mansion, it was already sunset. It was a long day, and I also got to rampage, well not really tho… but I still got to release some mana off.
