Chapter 5: The other lead character

Who is the male lead?

This question was still on my mind still, last night it occurred to me,
I’m beginning to think that what I’m seeing above other people’s head is actually the genre of their life, 
contrary to Anne’s claim that it’s the genre that person likes.

If that is the case then right now is Haley cheating on Justin?

I have no evidence so I can’t actually say for sure that it is the case. 
This is the first time something changes in what I see, 
so I can’t figure out which is which.
 I guess what I have to do just monitor the situation and see if it changes back, 
and also hope that it really isn’t what I think it is.

Because I have been distracted with these thoughts 
I didn’t know that the teacher was calling for me and I ended up getting scolded.
 Anne seemed to be trying to warn me though.

Lunch break and Anne talked to me to see if I’m okay.

“Yes, I am fine, don’t worry” (Henry)

“You’ve been spacing out since this morning that I can’t tease you.” (Anne)

“Can you stop doing that? Focus on the class, will you?” (Henry)

“Right back at you!” (Anne)

She grinned, honestly I couldn’t say anything back cause of the situation right now.
 Even now it’s still on my mind and something is telling me that the situation is bad.

“You really like that pen, don’t you Henry?” (Anne)

“Hmm? Oh ah yeah..” (Henry)

When did I take this out? 
I don’t remember getting this fountain pen that dad gave me from my bag, 
though it strangely makes me calm.

“You are bothered by the changes of the things you see, are you?” (Anne)

“Yeah, I am, hey Anne, 
if by some chance the genre that I see above people’s head 
aren’t the genre they like but the genre of their life,
 what do you think it means?” (Henry)

“The genre of their life you say, 
well as someone who likes anime and stuff, 
I can’t say that I haven’t thought of it, 
but if it really is the case then it’s kinda amazing in its own way. 
You can see how that person’s life will go on or something” (Anne)

“I see the story of their life huh,” (Henry)

“But it kinda sucks to the one whose genre change into a hentai,
 you said that the person became a side character right? 
I don’t really read much of that genre so 
I couldn’t tell the how the ending will go to that person’s life.
 But from most of what I read the affair will go on continuously without being noticed” (Anne)

Indeed, it is what Anne says, 
most of the things I read ended with the one being cheated on not knowing what is happening.
 But seeing it actually happening in the real life doesn’t sit right with me.
 Especially that the one being cheated on is my best friend.

“Hey Henry, Who is the person that change their genre anyway?” (Anne)

“It’s actually… Justin” (Henry)

“WHAT!?” (Anne)

Now that I think about it, 
I should have told Anne that it was Justin from the very beginning.
 That way she wouldn’t be reluctant in helping me.

“Why didn’t you tell me sonner! 
Justin is too pure to like that kind of stuff!” (Anne)

“I know, my bad, I didn’t actually know you will believe me.” (Henry)

“That’s not the point!
 Look assuming that what you see is the genre of a person’s life is true,
 then right now Justin’s and Haley’s life is being toyed with!” (Anne)

“You are right but I can’t just ask them directly about this!
 I don’t even have evidence that what we are saying is true!” (Henry)

“This is complicated! How about we try to find who the guy Haley is with, 
just to check what are the other tags aside from Netorare” (Anne)

“If I recall right it’s 
Solo Male, Solo Female, Mindbreak and Ahegao.” (Henry)

“Solo means there is only one person. 
When did you say Justin’s genre changed?” (Anne)

“It’s when they began dating, 
the change occurred after school was over I think” (Henry)

“That narrows it down to a personnel at this school or a student. 
In most cases like this Haley may have been blackmailed” (Anne)

“Yes, I’ve read some of it so you are probably right again. 
I’ll see if I can find the other lead,
 their genre must have also changed.” (Henry)

“I’m sorry I can’t help out much, 
but I’ll try to see if there is anyone suspicious” (Anne)

“You’ve helped me more already Anne, Thanks” (Henry)

I smiled at Anne reassuring her. R
ight now it’s best if I find the male lead and get evidence. 
Class resumed soon after. 
Now that I know what I needed to do next I tried contacting Justin first.
 So once classes were over I headed into his class and managed to meet him.

“Hey Justin! Got a minute!” (Henry)

“Oh Henry? What’s up, I was about to go to the gym.” (Justin)

“Gotta practice huh, 
so about the plan for this Saturday, 
where are we headed to?” (Henry)

“I’m still not sure; 
I’ll take a look online so that it won’t take us long.” (Justin)

“Alright, gotcha! 
I’ll see you then!” (Henry)

“Eh, is that all?” (Justin)

“Yeah, you and Haley are going to meet up right?
 I just checked something out.” (Henry)

“Oh is that so, well I’ll be going now. 
Haley is in the gym running errands with the coach.” (Justin)

“Alright, see you later.” (Henry)

I wave at Justin while he was on his way to the gym.
The thing above his head is as follow.

The only thing that is changing is the Pages, 
what happens after it reaches 50? Is it supposed to end?

Be that as it may, my priority is finding the other lead, 
I should look around the school for now, 
I’ll investigate those who are close to Justin and Haley.

Just when I thought it’d take a while to find the other lead, 
I found him with just a turn of my head, 
he really was much closer than I thought.
