CAN I HAVE A MOMENT BEFORE YOU START YOUR JOURNEY?

Life is a journey. You are a traveler. Most of us follow certain paths. Some create their own. Some are lost. Some are exploring. We sometimes stumble and fall. We rise... As we walk, we meet people. We hear their stories. We learn... We understand... We discuss... What is life, really?

The following stories are not the kind of stories that I prefer to write or I usually write because I like a different genre. I prefer, horror/mystery/suspense/fantasy. The stories that are here are mostly about life. They just randomly came to me like familiar faces you came across on your way to wherever you are heading. Some of them were a little awkward, shy, and exceedingly noisy that I have no choice but to acknowledge them and pen them down. Perhaps, that's what makes them special to me. Some of them are not so pleasant because they slap you with reality. Some of them are shy; you have to know them well to fully understand what they are trying to say. Some of them are friendly; they may give you some inspiration with their smile. They are reflections of the troubles or experiences that we often hear, encounter, or even go through as we go along this path called 'life.' As you go on with this life, try to meet them as you go ALONG THE WAY.

Just one final note before you leave. The contents of this e-book will be alternatingly in English and Filipino. Some stories were in short-form or long-form, in traditional or in an experimental form. Some were previously published and some are fresh from the author's lazy editing skills; thus, you may find typos and grammatical errors ALONG THE WAY.   If you do, please let me know in the comments. I would also love to know what you think about the stories. Okay, you're good to go. I can't promise you a nice trip ahead, but sure it would be worthwhile. Stay safe and always keep happiness in your heart as you go ALONG THE WAY.   --BRILE SAN JOSE West of Negros. APRIL 30, 2021
