Maddie

"You can't just go and recruit basic bitches like her. You just can't!" I was close to hysteria the minute I heard the latest gossip. I know I said everything about being prim and proper earlier, but I just had to cross the nice people's bridge and conquer this issue. Well, if you weren't able to guess, let me do the honors of spilling it.

Chanel and Adela found a new girl.

The latter rolled her eyes and scanned her new painted fingernails. Prolonging 'H', she informed, "Hhhhhhhhonestly Maddie, there's nothing to whoreey 'vouts" I took note of the emphasis. "She's pretty, rich, smart and she's - "

"Asian for Chrissake!" I cut off in frustration.

Givens scoffed and stared at me as if I'd gone mad. She rummaged her makeup pouch in search of an eyeliner after snapping out of a trance. When she was done fixing up, she looked at my reflection in the mirror and I hated the fact that she looked more like Ariana Grande than she had in the past few days. "So you're going racist now, huh?"

What? - Oh!

My cheeks flushed red and my head felt like it was throbbing from anger. "Of course not, but we haven't ever recruited someone like her. Hell, we haven't recruited anyone at all."

Hands flying here and there, I acted as if they could help me get my point. "I'm Caucasian, you're Caucasian. No offense Adela, I just don't know what your specific brand is but you certainly don't look like an Asian to me!"

Not that I had anything against the race, mind you; in fact, I found them stunning. I guess that's the reason why I was afrai-af-afr... Threatened of this "new Filipina student with a tan everyone loves". And just like before, I'd rather die than admit it.

"What's so special about this girl?"

"You cayn't spell Caucasian wi'out Asian." Hemingway was quick to answer in a very matter-of-fact voice. She and the wannabe giggled, leaving me feeling left out. Uggh, let one dumb girl take back to you, and the rest of them will!

Honestly though, what was happening? The last time I checked they loved the attention they got because the Queen had her fingertips at their napes, but now they're rebelling-

But maybe I should've just closed my hand around their necks to - I don't know.

To.

To.

To.

To choke them.

The thought must've shown on my face since Chanel took a step back and gave me an uncertain look. "You okay, Maddie? You look like you're about to go berserk on us."

I took a deep breath - perhaps the deepest I ever took - and let it out in a long, slow, incredibly satisfying sigh. "Oh no- Why would I?" A facade of calmness engulfed me. I, then, held my head high and an intimidating eyebrow was raised.

"You two are so gonna regret treating me like this."

Applying my favorite lipstick shade, I slapped their faces with threats. "I won't just go berserk, honey, I'll destroy you. And let me just elucidate." I paused to make the poison linger. "I am not gonna be crushed to smithereens by the like of you.

"As for the girl you're bugging me about..."

I tasted something sweet in my mouth and instantly knew that it was superiority. "I could give her a try, I guess. Who knows? She could be a real asset in getting rid of you-know-who, right, killer?" Not bothering to cover up my suspicion, I slightly bent over to get head-on with Givens. At 5'8, I knew I was taller than other girls, and oh this was just the perfect time to brag about it.

My eyes never leaving hers, I proclaimed. "Wink, wink."

The new girl

I stared after the so-called Queen of Ademar High as she burst out of the bathroom, leaving her minions behind. A smile was spread across my lips; my eyelids fluttered confidently; my nose pointed proudly to her. I could do nothing except watch in amazement at her defiance.

She was so certain everything was fixed.

So certain her friends were scared shitless.

Little did she know they just burst out laughing.

And here I was, a new girl with a mission. A mission even Madison Colt herself cannot stop.
