Taking a bit of time to rest and cool my mind off allowed me to get ready to attack again. As the boss and I were afraid that we might run into possible traps throughout the building, we decided to head back using the boss’ portal.

We transformed into our demon forms before heading out. Just like the boss said, I was clearly in control with myself. Although I still have this urge to destroy things and wreak havoc, I was still sane.

I went inside the portal and the boss followed after. I came out of the portal just to see that the three demons were still at the location. The tailed demon was sitting on the reception desk while the robot one and the girl were still in the exact place they were in when we left.

“So you bastards came back after finding out that there is no other way out, eh?” The tailed demon uttered in a confident tone.

“Yeah, I was actually freaked out about it.” I replied in a sarcastic tone.

“How can that be possible?” The robot demon uttered in surprise.

“What are you freaking-“ The tailed demon suddenly stopped after he noticed my arm.

“Surprise! This fella was still too young to be apart from his daddy so I had to get him back.” I jokingly said as I swung my right arm around.

“You hath the ability of restoration? That’s just like…” The girl uttered.

“Pretty neat, huh? I was thinking maybe I could end world hunger issues with this ability! What do you think?” I tapped my biceps.

“As if eating something disgusting will solve anyone’s hunger.” The robot guy remarked.

“Oh you do not have to be so dishonest. I know you want to take a bite yourself!” I continued my provocation.

“I don’t know what trick you used on that arm of yours. All I have to do is cut it again!” The tailed guy launched himself against me.

“Oh, just like what we did with that Bruno guy, right boss?” I uttered as I dodged.

“That was exhilarating.” The boss replied with a smile.

“I’ll tear you to shreds!” The robot demon locked its sight on the boss and began attacking.

The boss opened portals to absorb the enemy’s projectiles while he had to manually dodge those that he failed to absorb. Meanwhile, I concentrated on dodging the bouncy guy’s attacks.

Although he was fast, the trajectory of his jumps were not hard to predict. My only problem is that poison that his blades contain. If it hit my arms or legs, I can just cut it just like before and have it regenerate. The bad news is if he hits me on the torso or near the head. That will be game over for me.

“What now? Is dodging all you can do? So much after your big talk earlier!” The tailed demon continued his attack.

“No way, I am just enjoying the sight of you bouncing around. It reminds me of pachinko.” I responded without taking my eyes off his blades.

“Are your screws loose? Pachinko does not bounce that much, all it does is fall down!”

“That’s why it reminds me of you, because you are going down anytime soon!” I laughed.

“Let’s see how badass your tongue is after I cut it off!”

The tailed guy was clearly agitated that his movements became faster. Although that was clearly what I was going for, his movements were too fast that I was unable to spare any attention to see how the boss was doing.

I enlarged my arm then pierced down the ground, just as I did before. I dug any concrete that I could and then threw it at him.

“That same trick won’t work twice!” The enemy slashed the rubble into small pieces with his blades on his arms.

He was coming towards me when I used the back of my enlarged hand to slap him away. It felt like I was playing table tennis. The force from my hand sent him flying away from me until he crashed to the wall.

“T-too bad!” The guy smiled even though he was struggling to speak due to the impact.

He was able to cut the back of my hand which caused it to shrink despite my will. I bit my lip and braced myself as I used the claws from my left hand to cut it off. Even though I already knew how it felt having a body part removed, I was still not immune from the unbearable sensation.

“BOSS! NOW!” I screamed both due to the pain and also to signal him.

Despite another rain of bullets and missiles were coming towards him, the boss opened portals towards my direction while I enlarged my foot then jumped towards his location.

he?” The tailed guy uttered upon the sight.

Bullets and missiles came out from the boss’ portals and were headed to the tailed guy who was smashed to the walls. Although I doubt it will finish off someone as tenacious as him, I think he won’t be able to move in a while after that.

On the other hand, I enlarged my left arm to block the projectiles coming from the robot guy. Although it hurt a lot, the pain was nothing compared to having a limb severed. By the time the barrage was over, my right hand was already back.

While the tailed one was out of the way, I ran straight towards the enemy. I was met with another hail of bullets but the boss absorbed it for me as I remained running. When I was already nearby, I jumped then enlarged my right fist. I pounded at the enemy as hard as I could as I landed.

Although I used my full force, the barrier was still able to block it. I quickly shrunk my right arm then followed my attack by punching with my enlarged left hand. It was still no use.

Despite not being able to crack at her barrier, I still decided to keep on attacking. I enlarged my left foot then jumped with it. As I was falling, I switched the enlargement to my other foot then landed a kick during my fall.

The barrier was still holding well but then I noticed that the ground was enduring cracks. Because of that, I decided to hit the ground instead. I used my enlarged arm to dig the ground and scooped it up. My intuition was correct, the barrier did not extend until below the ground. The two demons were now literally at the top of my palm.

“Shit!” The robot guy exclaimed.

I then crushed the chunk of land from which they were standing on. Since they lost their foot hold, they lost balance as well then fell down.

“Cray! There is no longer an interruption! Let’s get out of here!” The boss shouted as he opened a portal that can fit a whole person.

Although I wanted to finish the enemies off, there is a chance that their reinforcements might come any minute. Because of that, I ran at full speed towards the portal.

I came out of the portal just to meet a dark smelly alley. Although it was not a sight to behold, it was quite a relief to see the night sky finally greet me. We were able to get out of the pinch.

I quickly reverted into human form since it would be bad if anyone saw my demon form. The boss then came out from the portal and he reverted as well after closing it.

I think that was the most dangerous situation that I was ever in. Since we were already outside, they will not be able to attack us openly and aggressively anymore. With the boss and I working together, maybe we will actually be unstoppable.

“I’m sorry about this Cray.” The boss looked very tired as he sat to the ground.

“There is no need to worry about it! The important thing is we got out safely!”

“Sorry…”

“I already told you that-“

The boss then gave me a different kind of look that I cannot describe in words. He was serious but at the same time sad. The moon’s light reflected on his eyes. I felt my spine shiver, partly because of the cold wind and partly because of him.

“I’m sorry Cray but I have to do this.”
