“Revenge? Did we do something?” I asked as I faked ignorance.

“I’m not sure exactly who did the finishing blow.” The blonde guy stood up. “But killing all of you in your group will solve the problem, right?” His eyes widened as he leaned forward.

“Sorry but I cannot seem to follow.” I pretended to be confused.

“You think you can make a fool of me, huh?” The guy shouted as he kicked the sofa he was sitting on a while ago.

“If you can explain us the situation then maybe we can help you?” I asked in a concerned voice.

“Cut me your crap! You are the only ones who could be at the arrogant Corson’s place! We engaged their full force that night! None of them could have killed Bruno!” He screamed.

Bruno? That might be the name of the one with the demon Shax. He was under Gaap and we killed him. But that was only because we wanted to prevent Gaap from wanting to go after us.

Despite doing so, they still knew. Why did he have to die then?

“The guy might be a brute but he was honest and hardworking! His loyalty for Gaap was unmatched among all of us!” He said as he kept on smashing the other furniture near him.

“Yes, I killed him.” The boss confessed with a flat tone.

I looked at him in shock. I was not expecting for him to admit it that soon.

“You?” The guy walked towards the boss

I braced myself and got ready to attack the moment he tries to hurt the boss. He leaned forward against the boss until their faces were close to one another.

“You don’t look strong.” The guy gave the boss a doubtful look.

“I’m not but I do have some tricks.” The boss replied, unfazed.

The guy clicked his tongue then put a distance from the boss. He sat on the sofa whose backrest was already in contact with the ground then he resumed talking.

“So why did you kill him? I want to hear it directly from the horse’s mouth.”

“Horse’s mouth? But the horse is already dead!” I teased.

Without a second passing after I talked, he quickly got up then threw the sofa he was sitting on a while ago. I was unable to react in time. I was just surprised that it slipped pass through me until it crashed to the wall. It seemed like he missed on purpose.

“I’m not talking to you, you bastard!” His annoyance was clearly visible on his face.

“If I am not needed here then I’ll be going home now.” I turned away when I suddenly heard a sound of something breaking.

“Don’t test my patience you piece of shit.” He kicked the table near him.

I felt his blood lust so I did not speak another word and stood still. I just decided to stay vigilant while they talk.

“He pursued us so we had to fight back,” The boss uttered.

“That’s it? That’s how he died? If only he listened to me.” He clicked his tongue once again. “So what were his final words?”

“He screamed in agony while going on about how he was supposed to be unbeatable.” The boss laughed.

The guy was not able to hold back and lunged towards the boss. The boss anticipated it so he ducked to avoid his hand then grabbed him by the arm. The boss used both of his arms to throw the guy away from us.

“Let’s go!” the boss commanded.

The two of us ran towards the entrance door with an objective, to escape. We were already able to show up according to their wishes, I don’t think they will go on with whatever threat they gave Miss Barbara anymore. If they did, they will be unable to use the same tactic in the future.

When we were already by the door, the guy appeared in front of us to block our exit. He was already in his demon form, his limbs grew longer and blades like scythes protruded from his arms. He also has a large thick tail and three silver horns up in his head.

“You are not going to escape here alive! I’ll make sure you’ll join Bruno tonight!” The guy declared with his now thinner yet rougher voice.

“That’s right, we’ll get our revenge!” Another voice said which was deep and solid.

I looked behind me then I saw two more demons by the wide stairway. One has a bulky body all covered with what seemed to be steel metal plates. His arms had gun like structures while his feet were wide and flat. His two large horns that are oriented horizontally were proof that it was also a major demon.

“I don’t really care much about Bruno but I will do what my lord hath commanded me.”

The other one was a woman with multiple slim leg-like structures on her waist, forming something that resembled a skirt. Her bluish skin was bathed in black marks. She has a long silver hair and a slim figure. The leg-like structures were enrooted to the ground while her hands were holding one another atop her chest. She also had a single horn at the top of her head that points directly upward.

Three against two, we were clearly entrapped. If only we can get past this tailed one then we can escape. I doubt they will pursue us on a place where a lot of other people can witness.

“What do we do boss?” I asked nervously.

“It’s obvious, I’m counting on you.” The boss also transformed to his demon form.

Counting on me? Does it mean that he wants me to transform as well? But what if I attacked him as well during my rampage? But If I don’t, I’m sure the boss cannot handle all three at once. Nevertheless, I have no choice. Here comes nothing.

I removed my gloves then I transformed to my demon form as well.

“You think you can take me with your silly tactics? Let me show you the difference in our power!” I gave out a hysterical laugh.

I felt the power surging from within. Nothing can stand in my way, not these vermins, not anyone. All I have to do is tear them apart and let them know their place. I’m excited to see their faces all twisted in fear!

“Don’t you understand you position? You are clearly outnumbered!” The ugly tailed guy announced.

“It is you who should know you place, you low ranked demon!”  I enlarged my arm then attempted to grab him.

The bastard used its tail to hit the ground which allowed him to avoid my hand. Bullets then rained from the robot loser. Joseph opened three portals to absorb the projectiles before he closed it. He opened it once again then the bullets flew towards the enemy.

Just as the projectiles was about to hit them, it bounced off from some kind of invisible barrier and failed to reach the target.

“Useless!” I told Joseph.

He looked shocked for being truthfully described but he did not talk back. Since the tailed shithead dodged my attack, the exit was already open wide. Joseph went towards the exit but he suddenly stopped as if something was blocking his way.

“What’s this?” He uttered as he tackled the invisible barrier but it just bounced him off.

A hail of bullets started coming towards us again but the fool was so preoccupied with the barrier that he did not notice. I enlarged my arm to block the bullets. Although it wounded me, the wounds also shrink to an unnoticeable degree after I shrunk my arm back to its original size.

“If you cannot get out then worry about the enemy first!” I shouted.

The tailed one lunged against me and attempted to slash me with the blades on his arm. I side stepped to dodge him until he met with a wall. He used his tail against the wall then launched himself against me which I was able to easily dodge.

He repeated it again and again like an endlessly bouncing ball yet none of his simple attacks reached me. But the more he did it, the faster he became.

While I was dealing with the freak, the only thing Joseph was able to do was stop the opponent’s attacks. He tried to counter by returning the opponent’s bullets but the barrier deflected it every freaking time!

It was obvious that the barrier was because of that boorish girl who had not even moved since we started fighting. Since merely returning the projectiles did not work, Joseph ran towards the enemy while he defended himself with his portals.

He tried to slash at the demon girl with his claws but the barrier also prevented him from doing so. After the hopeless attempt, he ran back again to keep his distance.

“I got enough of this!” I shouted while dodging the tailed bastard.

I enlarged my right arm then pierced the floor with my claws. I threw the harvested rubble towards him. Large chunks of stones hit the guy which disrupted his momentum. As a result, he fell to the ground.

I was about to go towards him to finish him off when I noticed that turret like structures appeared on the robot guy’s shoulders. Bullets burst out from his arms while missiles came out from his shoulders. Joseph opened up three portals but it was quite visible that he will not be able to stop it all.

I enlarged my foot then jumped towards his location. I quickly shrunk my foot then enlarged my arm to keep us safe from all the projectiles that Joseph failed to absorb.  Some bullets and missiles landed which caused me a great amount of pain.

The explosion from the missile caused a smoke screen which obscured our vision. Just before the smoke cleared up, I felt a slashing pain on my enlarged arm. My arm shrunk even without me wanting it to.

“What the-“ I was not able to move my arm anymore.

I looked at it just to see that aside from the burns from the missiles and small wounds from the bullets, there was also a small cut. But the color of the wound from the cut was different, it was purplish. The color slowly spread out from the wound towards my skin.

I looked around and the tailed bastard was standing again as he widely grinned.

“It’s over now! The poison attacks the nerves and spreads like wildfire! You won’t be able to move your arms now!” The tailed bastard laughed. “Come on! Go on about how you were supposed to show me the difference between us!”

“Joseph! A portal! Now!” I shouted.

He silently did as I said and then opened a portal right in front of me. I placed my disabled arm in the portal with the help of my other arm. Joseph quickly closed the portal which severed me of my unmoving limb.

“AAAAAAAAAAAAAH!” I shouted due to the intense pain.

It stung like hell that tears came out from my eyes due to the sensation. I wanted to roll on the ground right now with the hopes of lessening the pain even by just a little. My back shivered and sweat poured down like crazy. I tried to breathe properly but I was clearly unstable.

“It’s our chance!” The armored guy deployed missiles from his shoulders again and launched it towards us alongside the bullets.

“Cray! Block it for me!” The boss commanded.

“Urgh!” I groaned as I tried to focus despite the pain and the sudden imbalance in my body.

I enlarged my left arm and blocked all the bullets and missiles as I shouted from the immense pain. It was as if I was going to go out of my mind.  As soon as I was confident I blocked all the projectiles, I quickly shrunk my arm.

The boss then opened a single portal with the use of all of his three eyes. Unlike the previous ones, it was large enough for a person to fit in. The boss grabbed me then threw me to the portal and then he followed.
