[HANCHEN]

“This is what we are going to do,” said Kuro. His face was expressionless as usual. “Satsujuno will most likely follow and attack us when we gathered in one place. As we speak right now, he is already making his way towards here. When he arrives, we will go in separate ways.”

“Won’t it be easy if we fought him together?” Paru asked.

“His power is too great for us. He can defeat us in an instant by using a large scale spell,” said Kuro.

“Then, how are we going to face him if we go separate ways?” I asked.

“Paru, you should go at the center of the border. Fly towards the statue.” He looked at Paru. Paru nodded. “Hanchen, you are going to transform into your full beast form.”

“Why?” I asked.

“Satsujuno will aim to fight in an open ground because he won’t want to disturb the beasts in this bloody forest. They might interfere in the fight. By the time we reach the border, Paru will cast a binding spell from distance and I will jump as high as possible. When that time comes, you are gonna need your beast strength to push Satsujuno on the ground.”

“Then?” I asked again.

“When he’s tied on the ground, I am going to hammer him.”

“Hammer?” Paru asked, dumb faced.

“It’s my magic spell.”

“But Satsujuno will surely cast a spell as you fall,” I said.

“That’s where you’ll use your firewall.” An intimidating dark aura was filling Kuro’s eyes. “If my theory is correct, fire magic sucks magicules from air. If Satsujuno casts spell, you should block it with a wall of fire.”

“My magic won’t be strong enough to suck out or block all of his spell.”

“It’s okay. I just need a little time to gather all the mana that I can and prepare my spell,” he said. “Are you going with my plan?”

Paru and I agreed. As we talked, Master suddenly appeared before us with heavy and intimidating appearance. His eyes were glowing red. We dashed into different directions and followed Kuro’s plan. All of his predictions were correct, we have tied Master down on the ground, however, when Kuro was about to hit Master, he casted a spell that created a black sphere and blocked it.

“You really are a monster….” That was the only thing I could say after seeing how Kuro managed to give the Master a hard time.

My name is Hanchen, the twin of Paru, who is an insect. Paru and I met Kuro when we were five. He is always composed and expressionless. He’s always carrying a book that he’d always read when have nothing to do or when Master gives us time to rest. Growing together, I’ve noticed some things about him. His hair is oddly different from the image of humans in my mind. The way he speaks makes me think that he’s way older than me even if we are at the same age.

As we meet and train every day, I’ve realized – he’s a raven, not, a really intelligent raven. The day we fought Master in a training battle made me think more about it. He can easily analyze things and make quick decisions. He can easily spot the weakness of his opponent and think of a way to use them.

I envy him for his intelligence and his strength to face strong opponent even if the Gods who created Marks don’t bless him. Don’t get me wrong, I am not complimenting him, I just think that he’s a great person and I only get along with him because my sister wants me to. That’s all.
