“Yuu?”

A familiar voice coming from behind called out Yuu’s name from behind them.

Yuu and Natsumi that was walking at the school hallway looked behind to the direction of the familiar voice.

There standing behind them was a female teacher with long Brown hair, and she was wearing an “Aquamarine colored suit” partnered by a black long skirt.

“Holmes’s-Sensei.”

The one that called out to Yuu was none other than “Valerie Holmes” their home room adviser.

“Big sis- OUCH!?”

Hearing his referral towards her, she then smacked him on the forehead with the book that she was holding after being called without honorific by him.

“That’s “Mrs. Valerie or Valerie-Sensei” young man we may know each other but do remember that this is a school… Ehh…? Yu-Yuu-Chan?”

Her words were cut off as the person that she was lecturing was none at sight above standing.

“Are you ok Yuu?”

Surprised at the voice coming from below Valerie looked down and saw the boy she was about to lecture now squatting down on the floor holding his forehead with teary eyes.

While bearing the pain Yuu was being pated on the back by Natsumi asking if he was ok.

“You know, holding back wouldn’t hurt you know?” said by the boy while looking up towards her.

Realizing that she might have over done it she felt bad at him and just apologized.

“Well sorry about that…”

====

“Isn’t today that the target would be transferring to our class right?”

“Yup, yer right about that Tohka-chan.”

“Then, WHY THE HELL THAT WE ARE THE ONLY ONES HERE!”

Tohka shouted out loud after seeing that only a few of them was present at the class room.

Looking around the room their total was only six, it was almost half the total of the fifteen desks inside the room.

The only student currently inside are Tohka, Yae, Rebecca and Oui that had arrived together and two more that was already sitting on their desk before them.

“Keep silence Tohka-Dono, I can’t hear the footsteps if you shout like that.”

A girl wearing a pink Japanese style kimono, asked Tohka to be quiet since she was so loud, while she trying to hear some footsteps coming from outside?

“S-sorry about that…” after being told by her fellow classmate she quieted down not saying a word anymore.

The girl holding her “Katana”, noticed noises coming from the other side of the door, hearing it clearly even though it was so far from where she was sitting yet she could tell the exact number of people walking towards the room’s location, yet one particular sound bothered her.

“There seems to be a different sound coming from outside.”

“Is it Valerie-Sensei?”

Curious to what the girl had heard, Yae that was sitting beside her asked if it was their teacher.

“Yes and Natsumi-San as well, however the other footstep seems to be a male.”

The door suddenly opened, coming out of it was their teacher Valerie along with two other students.

“Ok sit down everyone I’ll be introducing a new student that will join our ranks.”

After entering the classroom Natsumi went straight to the far back of the room near the window there are other empty desks as well almost half of the class isn’t present in the room.

“You can come in now.”

Giving the permission the person standing at the door walked inside and faced the direction of the whole class.

The entire student that was present at the moment knew the identity of the person that had entered yet none shown emotion, knowing that they could give out a different impression towards him.

“Since almost half of our class is present I’m just going to make this short so you can go and do your jobs after this, go on introduce yourself.”

“Right, I’m Yuu Mirai as you all can see I’m new to the place and don’t know that much, since I’ll be attending this class I hope to get along to everyone.”

Yuu bows to all of them after introducing himself.

Seeing this every single girl inside the room had different reaction on it.

One was silent; one just looked at him the other two just stayed casual showing none that might gave him a bad impression and one was looking at him while playing with her hair.

After that the introduction had ended their teacher just pointed at the chair in front Natsumi.

“Ok, you can have that sit in front of Himekawa.”

Yuu walked towards the sit that was pointed to him and sat down, after that he wondered both his eyes looking at the whole room.

The room wasn’t that wide yet the fewer people in it made it look wider than it would usually look.

“Ok now I’ll start the class.”

While their teacher started talking about something Yuu’s mind was wondering in a different place, looking around the room without moving his head.

(So there are fifteen chairs and tables inside excluding the teacher’s, and our number inside are more than the ones absent today I don’t know how they arrange our seats but number wise the one in the front near the door would be the first seat then we are divided by 5/3 or 3/5 there are seats empty, the seats that has someone sitting on them are number,3,4,5 on the first five desks and on my row are 8 and me10 next is Natsumi’s row that has 12, 13, and Natsumi for the fifteenth desk)

Yuu was examining the room and number of people inside, do to his own natural instincts it almost became a habit of him to examine the place that he wasn’t that familiar with.

Looking at his behavior the one behind him started to lean towards him without noticing her presence she whispered near his ear.

“Is there something wrong Yuu?”

A voice coming from behind called out to him, the feminine voice wasn’t that loud so their teacher in front couldn’t hear it.

Slightly turning his neck, Yuu tries to look behind to the source of the voice that was none other than Natsumi.

“Well I was just wondering if it’s like this in class every day.”

“You mean the number of people inside?”

“Yeah that.”

Lost in thought Natsumi did something that would surprise him.

She rise up her right hand during their class and seeing her actions, little sweats poured down on Yuu’s face and looked kind of surprised.

Looking at their direction their teacher Valerie called out Natsumi’s name.

“What is it Natsumi-Chan?”

After being called she stands up.

“Yuu wants to know something…”

“Hey-Wai- well I was only wondering, why there are few of us attending class today?”

A slight look of panic on Yuu’s face as he answered honestly after being told to by Natsumi.

“Oh, that’s right this the first time that your attending a school with an “S.M.I.C” system right.”

“Ye-Yes…” Yuu responded with a light toned voice.

“S.M.I.C is a natural course to the entire student that had entered this school, “Student mercenary independent course” is another way to pronounce it to be exact… Natsumi-Chan, want to explain to your new friend?”

“Friend?” Natsumi sounded as if the word used to describe their relationship to one another was not right.

“Ah, am I wrong on that?” surprised at her response, she immediately asked her if she was wrong.

Not knowing the term friendship or friend in general she bluntly replied back to her.

“…Well it’s kind of complicated…” she looked towards Yuu that was in front of her and asked a similar question. “Are we friends?” she asked him with the same expressionless face as earlier.

Thinking of the term friend he too had thought that they were already friend yet he never gave thought if she had the same thought.

“Well I would like to if you don’t mind…?”

“Is that so, then I’m glad.” Hearing those words something inside her moved and without her knowing her face relaxed and her lips bended up forming a smile.

“Did she just smile?”

Captivated by her bright smile everyone inside the room was surprised to the emotions that showed on Natsumi’s face.

Seeing everyone reactions she tilted her head a little thinking she had done something.

“Is something wrong?”

“Nothing, you just surprised me with that smile.” Replied by him with a surprised look on his face.

A question mark appeared above her as if she herself didn’t know about her expression.

“Smile, Did I just smile?” Natsumi looked at everyone to confirm the words said by Yuu.

And without hesitance everyone just nodded back at her.

“Is that so, then let’s start again to what we were discussing.” After getting the answer she then began to proceed at the topic.

“Wait, wait, wait! Here I thought you were making a nice mood for once!” a girl with dark purple hair suddenly intercepts her continuation of the earlier discussion.

Confused at her actions Natsumi tilted her head a little and gave her same emotionless look to the girl.

“Is that so?”

“Never mind, just continue.” She covered her face with her right hand.

Sounding unmotivated as she used her left hand to make gestures for her continue her discussion.

“Is that so, how complicated.”

[“Like your one to talk…”]

Everyone had the same thought towards her response, without any more things to say they continued with the discussion.

“A-anyway let’s go back to the topic, Natsumi-Chan could you?”

“Yes, “S.M.I.C” is a course that all of the student here must obey but there are certain limits to it.” Natsumi stand up and started to explain the thing Yuu wanted to know.

“Certain limits?”

Having heard those words Yuu pointed it out just to know more about it.

“It means that there are things that we can and can’t do as a student here.”

Answering his question was the girl with “cherry blossomed color” like hair that was one sit apart from Natsumi.

After that Natsumi explained the rest to him making clear of some of the parts he should know.

“The restrictions are, that we can only take missions given by the school, minimize the casualties if it comes down to having some, and abide by the law of this country.”

“Ok take a sit Natsumi-Chan, now Shiori-San can you explain the other part?”

After Natsumi their teacher called out to the girl that was sitting on the back with a hair that matches a color of a cherry blossom that was wearing a pink Japanese kimono she was holding a Japanese katana on her hand that was placed above her desk.

“I understand.” The girl rose up and turned to Yuu’s direction and introduced herself. “I’m Okita Shiori nice to meet you.”

“Like wise.”

Having introduced herself she then proceeds’ to the part that she will say.

“So I now will explain the next part, first you were thinking why the other students aren’t here right?”

“I was wondering if their sick or something, but having that many people absent would be noticed by Valerie-Sensei as well, yet she didn’t mention it.”

Yuu looked at their teacher’s direction and was sure that his deduction was on the spot.

“About that, we have a “Large Bulletin board” outside the school building did you notice that?”

“Yeah, I think I saw something like that outside, so what are you getting at here?” replied by Yuu with a slight confused expression.

“That place is filled with job requests by the people of this island, tracking a lost person, assisting on a search out for a certain criminal, and catching huge syndicates that came here to further widen their agenda.”

As further information filled the gap at his question more questions popped and thus ad’s on more confusion.

“Wait so you’re telling me that even this island isn’t crime free?!” after hearing that, he replied back with a slightly shock tone and expression.

“Sadly no, as you can see it is the absolute nature of a human being to cause displease for their fellow kind in every country, let’s say for example the past world wars, if it weren’t for ignorance and thirst for blood none of it would’ve happen right?”

The girl with dark violet hair that was sitting in front of him gave her own reason to the question he made.

“Blood thirst, ignorance, I guess that’s one way to put it, but your missing one vital thing in human nature.” Yuu gave a sour smile at the girl in front of him.

Having known how it’s like outside the battle field, he who hasn’t been acquaintance with people other than himself just felt some kind of pain within his chest.

“And what is that?”

The look of his face caught her curiosity asking him to the answer that he would present to them, yet the nature that he had to show them was utterly true.

“…Their thirst for absolute control…”

Shivers went down their spines as the words he had said left an eerie truth but he wasn’t done he had yet to say something words that hung on his throat finally seemed to have meaning on it as he proceeded to talk the atmosphere became quite heavy.

“If all humans can agree to one thing, isn’t taking over ones country unneeded?  Yet it still had happen for decades, and then what was it that made the call of truce to all countries around the world?”

Everyone was in complete silence, the thought of knowing and the thought of finding out hangs on their mind yet they all had just waited and waited for him to say it.

That single question that he had presented to them a seconds second ago, felt like hours as everyone inside the room looked puzzled at his words.

No one inside the room knows the answer to his question, yet all of them had one thing at the back of their mind that time.

[“Is he really not dangerous?”]

Yes they all had thought of the same thing they thought of the boy currently in front of them “Dangerous”.

Seeing this Valerie decided that she as a teacher needs to say something if not end that kind of conversation.

“Alright enough of that, we are here to explain thing to you Yuu-Kun, but if this continues we’ll run out of time, Shiori-Chan can you continue?”

Their teacher connects both of her palm clapping two times to intervene to Yuu’s following question breaking the silence, and then asked the girl that was still standing to continue her dialog.

Finally snapping back to reality all of them realized that they had to be more careful to not let the boy be of suspicious to them.

“Yes.” Replied by Shiori. “As I said earlier the missions that are posted there are done solo or with a group maximizing of six to eight people.”

“Can I ask again?”

Raising his hand again frightened Valerie in thought that he might say something absurd again she shouted his name to give him some kind warning.

“Yuu-kun!”

Hearing her panicked voice he just smiled back giving her a sign that he wouldn’t say something that would render his classmates under a bad impression about him.

“It’s not like earlier, but can those missions be taken along a student with a different school?”

“That’s a great question, and nice a proposal you got there Yuu-Kun!”

Hearing his question something clicked in and then the idea that he brought became a thing that she wouldn’t expect he would say.

“Proposal, what do you mean?” Yuu asked with a puzzled look on his face.

“It means that you’re thought could work as a suggestion to the higher ups.” Explained by Natsumi.

“Oh, is that so, you haven’t thought of these yourselves yet, SEN-SEI…”

Yuu looked at their teacher with doubt, asking her if none of them had ever thought of something like this.

“WeeeeLL, you see arguing with the other teachers isn’t my thing so I never thought of something to help out…”

“Is that so… anyway sorry but can you continue?”

“HEY!” she called out to them yet they still ignored her.

And then they decided to not ever touch their teacher’s duties at school again, and just pretended that they didn’t hear anything earlier.

“Well almost all of that I said is all that I can cover here.”

“Is that so?”

“Yes if its facilities, then you could take a tour around the school at some point to know the structures here.”

After her explanation she decides to sit down and let their teacher explain the rest to him.

“Sigh... We’ll all that’s left is the method of payment here at the island, as you can see this island is built by us humans, and due to that the money used here are at random, but all of it comes down to the system that are developed here.”

Their teacher took out her phone and showed the screen to them in there she pushes some of the pictures and the screen changed.

“This is the cash system here at the island, anything you buy here can be cut out from this section.” She pointed out the logo that had symbol of a coin on the screen

“This is called “Cash Points” or “C-points” you can trade your countries money at the bank and convert them in to C-points based on its currency at that week on that specific cash.”

“So it’s like a digital wallet, that’s using some kind of network right?”

“That’s right, and once you attend a work or school here, you’ll get you own account along with your identification.”

“So if I had known about this in the first place, I wouldn’t be sleeping with cats and dogs near the plaza these past few days…”

Yuu glared straight at their teacher do to it was her fault that he hadn’t had a place to stay since arriving at the island.

“A-anyway that’s all that we can discuss today so you all can go check out some job offers if you want to!”

Unpleasant sweat falls across her face, as she tries to cut the topic at hand and decided to end their class.

After that they started to prepare to leave class, since it was his first day at school he had no plans at that time.

“Yuu, do you have some plans today?” tapping his shoulder the girl behind him asked him for his plan for the day.

“Nothing at the moment.”

“Then want to join me at a job today?”

“Really then I’ll be counting on you then!” happily replied by the boy as he grabs both of the girls hand.

Slightly surprised at his sudden reaction Natsumi just looked back at him with the same expressionless look.

“Oh, I almost forgot, go to the faculty room later Yuu-kun.”

“Ok, but why?”

“We’ll give you the key to your room so you better pick it up later.”

After that their class was dismiss for the day.
