Kalu Thawne is the main character of the story who considers himself a wizard on Earth after a devastating world war. He can manipulate technologies. He also created a"staff" for himself that is capable of disabling techs. He has only one purpose in this story, to die. For years he travelled around the world destroying beacons as he already knew it was hopeless. As he approaches his final goal, he is faced with another problem, a dilemma.
